Following on from my colleague Caroline Gray’s debut ‘A Day in My Life’ blog, I’m excited to share a glimpse into my own journey.

I’ve worked in the Enforcement industry since leaving school during which time I’ve seen many changes! My roles have largely been client facing whilst picking up some operational duties along the way. I’ve been a part of the IRRV for many years and this year I am serving as President for the Lancashire and Cheshire association. I’m married with 2 daughters who’re 19 and 15 who have always been my biggest cheerleaders. I am also a volunteer for the Menstrual Health Project – give them a follow! I started a new role as Client Relationship Manager for APN group on 06 October 2025.

  1. Morning Kick-Off

I’m generally an early riser at around 5am, I’m out the door as quickly as possible to walk my border terrier Keo. The darker, colder mornings are not making this easy! Around 6:30 I head to the gym for a Spin class, I love the energy of this class, a dark room with music blaring what more could you want! Once I get home I make sure my youngest is preparing for the day and I do the same.

  1. Main Priorities of My Day

Starting a new role my focus is currently absorbing as much information about the business as possible whilst also having a focus on client expectations. My day is usually a mixture of internal and external meetings, emails, preparing reports and internal strategy catch-ups. My days are largely determined by the demands and needs of my clients and ensuring their end to end requirements are met.

As a board member for WIRE and as president of the IRRV Lancashire & Cheshire association there are usually a few emails to keep on top of, particularly when we have events or meetings coming up.

  1. Personal Passions & Interests

I’m amazed at how different my daughters are and what different challenges we’ve faced together as they’ve matured. I love spending time with them which is not always reciprocated so I take what I can! We love a game of crazy golf or planning our next trip.

I’m a volunteer for Menstrual Health Project, having suffered personally for many years this is something I feel strongly about, particularly in an educational setting, there simply isn’t enough awareness or investment to support those that suffer. I volunteer as an administrator, attending meetings where required and completing general tasks.

I love walking and have recently taken on a few more challenging walks including Snowden, Mam Tor and Cat bells. I love the fresh air and feeling of achievement when you reach the summit! The best thing though is doing this with my friend Shelley who I met in 25 years ago through this very industry.

  1. How I Wind Down

Having a relatively busy and active day to day lifestyle winding down is a must, my husband and I love watching the latest gritty crime series but I love winding down with a good book, usually a detective series, one of my favourite authors is Angela Marsons.

Reflection

A moto I always try to live by is “you can achieve anything if you have a smile on your face” something my grandad said to me as a young girl and something I have always carried with me.

Thanks for following along with my day in the life! It’s been great to share a little about my world inside and outside of work.

Keep an eye out for next month’s edition of ‘A Day in the Life’ - we’ll be hearing from another WIRE board member (but I won’t spoil who just yet!).
